Big Pimpin...

I recently found this website via Facebook. Bluntcards... nasty, mean, hysterically funny retro cards to share. I just love it and each one makes me laugh my ass off. Here are a few of my favorites...

They remind me of Anne Taintor stuff. Which I've loved for years. Here's some of her's -

Anne's stuff is geared more towards woman and is equally great! Click on either or both links to visit the websites. Be prepared to lose an hour or more going thru all the fun stuff!

Now I'm going to pimp something even nearer and dearer to my heart. If you are a regular reader you know I have a daughter and she has two best friends that have been in her life since she was in middle school. Crystal and Colleen... my adopted daughters! I am a proud Ma today (actually every day but...) as I Pimp out Colleen's new Etsy storefront website. Col's so talented in many ways and she's now selling her beautiful hair barrettes and accessories on-line.
OLIVIA
They are bright and summery and perfect no matter what your age. They would make perfect hair clips for  bridesmaids or take away gifts for a little girl's birthday party. And they are so affordable... $4.00! I've already bought some for my nieces!
LOLA
ALICE
ZOE
I love how she's given them names as well. Like Coach handbags! So friggin cute! I am hoping to talk her into a Stacey LOL oooo and a Kate for the new Princess would be fabulous. Anyway, go check the website out, again, link is above, and see the whole collection. She'll be adding more as she gets them done. Ahhh I am a proud Mama!

Pimping complete for now. Happy Hump day!

Randoms thoughts from a sleepy mind

I had sewing all weekend from my friend- no professional football stiff this time, but I think high school ball maybe. Over 800 2 inch letters that needed to be sewn on nameplates. With Easter coming this weekend and losing most of yesterday, I ended up staying up all night to finish up. I could have gone to sleep at 4ish but was afraid I wouldn't wake up to deliver the stuff so i took my time and made my delivery. Any way , the point is my mind is tired. I went to bed around 10am and I slept for 3 or so hours and am dragging now.  Not complaining... just explaining. My  ramblings may sound strange and now you'll know why...

Hoping, for those who celebrate it, that a wonderful Easter was had by all. We were blessed with 82 degree sunny weather here in SE PA and spent it at my brothers house in Ephrata. We did the egg hunt inside, (no yard) but the kids still loved it.

Being up all night, and having the tv on when I took breaks or was clipping my sewing I have come to the conclusion that the only people who are awake after 3am are people who are either 1) unemployed. 2) overweight or suffering from some sort of sexual dysfunction, 3) willing to talk to strangers on the phone that they think are really great looking when in reality we know are stay at home grandmom's filing their nails while offering titillating conversation. LOL
Seriously??? LMAO

I am finding myself getting caught up in the Royal Wedding hoopla. Not sure why - other then the fact that I watched Princess Di and Charles get married the summer after I graduated from high school (aka when I still believed in Prince Charming) and was home on maternity leave 5 years later when Fergie and Andrew got married and watched that as well. So I will be up at the butt crack of before dawn to watch  Prince William and Kate. -probably the only royal wedding where the participants are actually in love. And I am not ashamed to say that I am really looking forward to it.
I am caught up in the details... the pomp and circumstance. I want to see the dress, the flowers, the crowds. Anyone with me??

No matter what I say, I will always love you...

Listening non stop to Adele's 21. God Lord I am so glad this was not out a year ago... This kinda says it all...
"Next time I'll be braver,
I'll be my own savior,
When the thunder calls for me,
Next time I'll be braver,
I'll be my own savior,
Standing on my own two feet"

And she covers one of my all time favorite songs...LoveSong by the Cure.

"Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again"

Sweet Jeebus every word this woman sings speaks directly to me.

"I heard that you're settled down,
That you found a girl and you're married now,
I heard that your dreams came true,
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you,
Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light,"

Is it wrong that after all this time, I still miss him? I don't miss "it"... But I miss him.

If I could talk to him I would ask, "How much of it was real? And how much of it was lies?"

As I look back with a clearer mind, I realize that, perhaps, I saw only what he wanted me to see. Maybe everything we had was just a lie...and really, in his world none of it matters. Except to me...

TOEMAGEDDON.... Really people???

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard about this... the picture in the J Crew ad of the mom and her son, and her son has pink toenails. Nothing like a little pink nail polish to set off the right wing homophobic peeps. Really?? It amazes me that people think that a little polish is a statement about trans-gender children... Trans-gender children? Good God! It's a mom and her son having fun. This child doesn't see the sexual rules drawn in the sand yet. He has no clue that these bias's exist... all he see's is some quality time with mom, doing something she does all the time. Jon Stewart said it perfectly - if this little boy goes to a fair and gets his face painted like a cat, does that mean he's a cat trapped in a little boys body?? Good Lord people lighten the frig up!! FYI If you are on FaceBook look up Pink Piggies. It's a new facebook page celebrating the beautiful individual-ness of us all!

Here's Jon Stewart's take on... TOEMAGEDDON!!!

Day 18 - My biggest insecurity

Day 18 - Post a picture of your biggest insecurity

Hah - BIGGEST being the operative word here. Look I'm all about the love you for you, appreciate yourself for all of you etc, but even with all that, my insecurity is, of course, my weight.

As most women would probably agree... BUT I am working on it and have been. Tho something tells me that even when I get to where I want to be, it may still lurk in the back of my brain as my ugly little gremlin.

I don't want to be thin, believe me. But curvy will do... think Christina Hendricks from Mad Men

I think curvy is sexier then skinny anyway...and I think most men do as well.

And hell... I've already got the red hair!

Day 17 - something that's had a huge impact on me lately

Day 17 - post a picture of something that has had a huge impact on you lately

Well, being unemployed, here's a pic of the latest numbers from Pennsylvania...

I've worked some side jobs, always staying under the legal $200 limit (believe me way below) per week that I can earn. Sewing for the Eagles, doing side work on websites and social media consulting- (which is a fancy way of saying, I set up Business facebook pages and market them for each individual business.)

I am on the second revamp of my resume now, aiming more for the Executive Admin jobs instead of Marketing coordinator. As a Marketing Coordinator I was laid off from my last 2 jobs because of the economy, which btw looks crappy on a resume.

I wish there was a way to discuss the book writing and the successful beef & beer I threw for the FOP in philly but it's not feasible.

Money of course is an issue. Especially with another grown adult, my 24 yr old, living with me. Rent, cable, electric, car cost's, phone, food, etc has left me most weeks with little or nothing left to spend. Sometimes with little or no food in the house I rely on the kindness of friends or knock on my parents door. Little things, like the latest dr appt and 100 bucks worth of meds, set me back for weeks.

But still, I have those friends and family, I have a roof over my head and a car that runs. I have blessing that many others in my situation do not have.  Don't think I don't realize that or appreciate it, because believe me... I do!

So...unemployment is something that has had a huge impact on my life lately.

Day 16 - someone who inspires you

Day 16 - Post a picture of someone who inspires you.

               BEFORE                                              AFTER
This is my friend Tony, Anthony Stefos DJ extraordinairre' He's been on Isagenix since September and these pictures show him after a 90lb weight loss. He is such an inspiration! Soon I will have the money together so that I can get my 30 day supply and I will be following in his footsteps.

Tony is the person who inspires me!
