Day 15 - the return to the daily blog - a bucket list item

Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die.

This one was tough. Don't we all have so many things we want to do, items on our bucket list so to speak. I want to graduate from college. I want to write books. I want to be rich. I want to find a long lasting, loving, healthy and secure relationship. Funny how I put that 4th on the list... funny how I felt the need to even add it to the list at all. Most expect that a relationship will simply happen.

Anyway, before I die I would like to own and run an Irish pub. I would call it Potter's Public House (Potter is a family name)  Or O'Neills Public House (my grandmom's maiden name). I would run it and bartend and have my friends work there with me. it would be a place where everyone would feel welcome, with music and good food and even better drinks.
Looks like the name is a popular one. BUT I would stick to the Public House part...give's it an old country Irish feel I think.
I'd know how to market the hell out of it too. I would look into the background of the most popular pubs in Ireland and incorporate the best of the best into my own. So that's my bucket list item.

Play Ball

"Don't tell me about the world.  Not today.  It's springtime and they're knocking baseball around fields where the grass is damp and green in the morning and the kids are trying to hit the curve ball."  ~Pete Hamill

April 1st , opening day of Major League Baseball!! The day that die hards, including me, have waited for all fall & winter. If you read the blog regularly, or know me personally, then you know I am a Phillies fan. Have been since I was old enough to understand the game...6 years old or so.

But I am not only a Phillies fan, I am a baseball fan as well. I know it, I understand it, I can keep the books if I need to, or want to... But I would rather just watch the plays unfold.

The Phil's don't play until Friday at 1:05 and I will be front and center, barring any bitchiness from mother nature(they were calling for snow... I KNOW!). I won't be at the actual game but I will be on my favorite barstool, eating a dollar dog and drinking a miller lite when the first pitch is thrown. Sooo excited!

With everything going on in the world right now; the horribleness that is Japan getting worse every day, Libya, Afghanistan, scariness here at home ... baseball is needed right now more than ever.

"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come."

So like a little kid on Christmas Eve, I  wait for those final two words of the Star Spangled Banner, or at least the final two that I always remember..." PLAY BALL!"

"There are three things in my life which I really love:  God, my family, and baseball.  The only problem - once baseball season starts, I change the order around a bit."  ~Al Gallagher, 1971

3rd times the charm??

Wow - hopefully this blog finds it's way to being published, since the first 2 I wrote did not. Maybe it was the universe's way of telling me they were too negative. The first one was about Chris Brown and his other famous woman beating friends, Charlie Sheen and Mel Gibson. The second one was about being sick and tired of being sick and tired.

So let me "reader's digest " them for ya -

Men who beat women suck- big time! And just cause they perform on a stage or a screen - they should not get a free pass to act like like assholes and have people(ABC) "pull for them" after they manage to break a window instead of another persons face. Get help, get fixed or crawl into a hole and STFU! (actually anyone who beats anyone is a douche...)

2nd post - I got sick again, after St Patty's day - I, apparently... A) am not a rockstar and B) can not party like one with out consequences. Point Taken Universe. I spent $150 on a Dr's visit and meds yesterday, to cure a sinus infection. The antibiotic is so strong it is killing my stomach etc blah blah blah...

See, negative! So, ok, maybe I make this one positive.

My Facebook status today quoted a Bruno Mars song -

When I see your face, There's not a thing that I would change

Cause you're amazing just the way you are
And when you smile,The whole world stops and stares for awhile
Cause you're amazing, just the way you are."
~~This goes out to every single one of you...read it, believe it, own it. You are amazing, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

FYI this goes out to all of you reading this now as well. I think everyone needs to be told how amazing they are. And also how they should never change unless they want too -

And in response to my FB status my 2 1/2 yr old great-niece sang me this exact Bruno Mars song and her mommy, my niece Shannon , taped it and posted it to me on Facebook. OMG made my day! Cutest damn thing I have ever seen! (Even cuter then the baby getting startled and laughing when his mom blows her nose! But I am biased lol) I can't figure out how to post it here(it was on FB only not youtube) but if you are my FB friend you can find it on my profile page. If you aren't my FB friend and want to be or want to see it, click on the FB badge down towards the bottom of the blog and request it. As long as you aren't a stalker, my stalker or my ex boy toy, I will accept you. : ) After 3 years of hiding, I am proud to say that now, my life is an open book. Well for the most part!

I also have a Facebook page called 'Spread the Positivity Now' that sends out positive quotes every few days along with inspiring photos. Look it up and "like" it and you'll receive them in your newsfeed.  We can never have too much positivity in our lives! Am I right?? Can I get an Amen??

Heading to the airport tonight with my friend Tami to pick up my favorite couple, Vern and Jeff. They've been in beautiful Orlando for the past 10 days and finally they come home tonight! Can't wait to hear about the trip and see if they packed Tinkerbell in their carry on! mmmhmm Just love my boys!

(hey Disney are some litigious yahoo's and I already sent a letter to their baby, ABC, about them being jackholes for putting Douche Chris Brown on dancing with the stars to perform so I am covering my butt here)

This weekend, hopefully feeling better, is spring cleaning in the hizzous and a "Liquor Exchange party" with my friends Bob, Tami and Kent. Yeah I hear ya... note to self DO NOT party like a rockstar on Saturday. Maybe "Party like an American Idol reject" will work??

Gonna post this while I can (thank you Blogger Gods) and take a much needed nap. Come back tomorrow for some fun posts - gotta play catch up!

Pulling my hair out

For the 2nd time in 2 days I have written a blog and when I post it, it won't go thru. Not so major except when I try to find it and edit and repost it , it's not there!! I am pulling my hair out. If this one posts - (please blogger Gods) then I will try yet again to write a full one. ~S

A pondering I go...

Have you ever had one of those days, or weeks maybe, where everything and nothing flows thru your brain like water? Something keeps you from focusing enough to recognize a clear thought process and everything...or nothing...gets all jumbled up in there? That's been me for the past few days. Not sure why. Not sure if it's good or bad. I am sure it's annoying to my creative side as I like to have a clear idea when I write. Instead, I seem to be destined to produce a stream of consciousness, that will ramble this way and that. A good thing, every now and then maybe, when you are a blog writer. But a kick in the taint if you are trying to write a book. And while I have never (thank you God) been kicked in the taint, I imagine it to be painful and ugly.

I have bounced from chapter to chapter writing a lot but not completing anything. Going back and changing things the next day as the stream flows differently. Going back the third day and scrapping half of the work I had done because it's totally not what I envisioned for the book. I stand at the crossroads of  Unclear & Bewildered and wonder what it is I am doing. Seriously...what am I doing? I am almost at the point of no return with "This Is Me Damn It!" the book. The point where I have to pull all the chapters together, decide how & to who (whom?) I will market it, and come up with a cohesive summary that will wow the publishers that I will send my book proposal. The proposal itself is a long process that excites me at the same time it terrifies me.

Add to this the resume writing that I am doing at the same time. Since I realize that being dirt poor and literally hungry some days, is not in my game plan for too much longer. I miss the 9 to 5, the order out of chaos, the routine of setting the alarm and being responsible for something. I have been working steadily since I was 14 years old, and as I fast approach 48 I am not used to being at home for this long. No 401k , or health insurance, or water cooler chat to enjoy. No steady paycheck either, which is even tougher to take. Especially since I have rent, cable, electricity, etc, etc...

While looking for a job, I think to myself, do I hide the blog? Of course not, I think, this is me ...damn it! LOL What I write will not keep me from getting a job somewhere but you and I both know, dear reader, that in this electronic age, everything is found. Hell Google me, you'll see what I mean. For that matter, Google yourself too. You would be amazed what shows up. For someone (me) who was off the grid for 3 years, I came back pretty damn strong. There was a time where you couldn't have found so much as a Myspace account in my name, while I hid from the stalker. I still don't have my car or my phone in my name to this day. But Google me and you will find my cell number. In the first page. Tho I will admit, the panic that makes me feel has lessened considerably over the years I have been back above ground.

So while I have decided I won't hide the blog, I find myself second guessing what I write based on the job search. Annnndddd we all know how I hate that self-censoring. Hmmm, me thinks if we were in a therapists office, that last sentence might lead to..."and how does that make you feel Stacey?" Maybe thats's where the scattered thoughts are coming from? The self censoring irritates me so much that perhaps I am sabotaging myself and my writing.

Well, hell! Holy epiphany , Batman... I may have just figured it out. And look at that...I took you along for the ride there didn't I? My previous Life Coach, Andrea Owen would be so proud of me. Her voice was in my head there for a bit. So let's work this out together here... I haven't been writing the blog because I have been job searching and worried about having to self censor myself in case my future employers find it. We've already established that I hate having to self censor myself. So Instead I have been writing the book and stumbling. Almost self censoring in the book writing as well. It seems to be a vicious little circle and I appear to be going around and around.

Soooo I write what I want on the blog, damn the man and all that. Then once I start doing that the little self censoring gremlins in my head will shut the hell up and I will be able to coherently and orderly continue writing the book.

Hmmmm I feel like I should pay you guys now... or at least make an appointment for next week. Could you update the magazines in the waiting room please?

I have been a bad blogger...but I am blessed!

Wow! I have been off the grid with my blog for 11 days!! WTF?? Sorry all, it won't happen again. After a fantastically fun Oscar Party weekend, I came home last Monday night and woke up the next morning with the dreaded Winter Cold!  It got progressively worse each day until finally yesterday I started feeling a bit more human for a few hours. Today, feeling human for a longer period of time.

God bless Mucinex! Or in my case...Rite Aid brand Mucus Relief (ewwww I so dislike the word mucus! ) It was a life saver! AND a back saver and a rib saver... the sore muscles from coughing the first few days were insane.

So some quick catch up and then I will continue my 30 days blogs and some new quote blogs as well. Speaking of quotes, I was so excited to see that one of my favorite organizations I Am That Girl used one of my quotes for their facebook status today! I was honored that such a fantastic, kick ass organization would think that my words fit the cause. The used a part of my Advice for my Daughter quote...

Don’t rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can’t love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different. -Stacey Charter

Please take a moment to check out the website. Read about the mission...one that tries to teach that beauty is evolved from so many things, not just looks, and that we should refuse to let the mainstream media make anyone feel less then Beauty -Full! They do great things for women of all ages!

So as I said, Oscar's weekend was fabulous. Eating, drinking, laughing, talking. My God I am blessed with some fabulous friends. And the love in that house should have made it glow like a double rainbow across the sky

(please tell me you've seen this... 25 million views this guy got on you-tube... talk about viral. Every media outlet magazine and tv show has made fun of it or imitated it since...)

So yeah - kinda like that! LOL But seriously, have you ever had that moment where it's busy and everyones doing something, talking or singing , or whatever, with a group of your friends and you just kind of sit back and watch and think to yourself...family! That's what we are... one big fantabulous family. And you grumpy little heart just starts to grow... like the Grinch after he discovers the true meaning of Christmas...

You know what i mean? That was me all  Oscar's weekend.

I am truly blessed!
